Brussels

Day 2 - 16th September

overcast 24 °C

Flea market attempt. Flea markets in foreign countries are always fun. Nothing beats frustrating a foreigner with insultingly low offers on their merchandise. Didn't quite make it in time. they close early afternoon on weekdays.

Arab feast. Stopped for some Arabic food. Was able to wax arabic with them. The owner was from the Maghreb which includes Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. Food and dialect a little different but I understood his dialect and he understood mine. Good feed.

Antique quarter. The antique shops here are everywhere… and cheap! Great merchandise. Would love to get hold of a container and fill it with furniture. Great vintage craftsmanship. Kills me to leave it here...

Lovely people. The people of Belgium are great. Lots of helpful advice and friendly inetractions. One guy in a store even took us for a 10 minute walk so that he could show us exactly where some of his favourite restaurants were. Thanks mate.

Royal place. Another one of Belgium’s famous squares. Again, very appeasing to the eye.

Royal dinner. Well, on Royal place anyway. I had 5 courses including lobster and Vic had 3. Couldn’t eat a thing more. Highlights definitely were the lobster and fish soup.
