Brussels

Day 4 - 18th September

overcast 24 °C

No car day. C’mon. On the day we check out of all days. Luckily Taxis are still permitted to operate however road closures lead to a longer drive time. Got out of it ok. Streets completely bare. Rather peaceful.

F’n bums. Getting a little sick of the gypsies. They get right in your face with their gold teeth, trying to get something for nothing. Almost lost composure. Get a job, Gyppo. Sorry, they are annoying… and dishonest.

Token bag breakage. Of course at least one baggage related dilemma. The small suitcase straps onto the big one. The strap died today meaning that there is one more bag to wheel around. At least it happened at the end of our trip. Feeling more like a camel everyday. Maybe I can get away with spitting on a gypsy!

Train to Amsterdam. I really love the train network. Hopefully we can grab a bite pretty quickly because there was no time for brekky. Hungry!

Vic’s narcolepsy. Out like a light. Record time too. In fact, she actually fell asleep while I was talking to her. She had her sunnies on and thought I may not notice if she nodded off. Rude!!

Brussels review. Nouveau and gothic style architecture a standout. Quite a small city but very nice. Food was good. City centre a treat. People were lovely and antiques to die for. Gabi, this was definitely your stop. Although if I was Jay, I wouldn’t let you within a continent of this place.
